MALTE FRØSLEE IBSEN
Research Associate in Political Philosophy
Malte Frøslee Ibsen is a political theorist working on global justice, critical theory, democratic theory, and climate politics. He is currently working with the Lab on the ethics of moderating climate misinformation on digital platforms, connected to his larger research project on democracy and the climate crisis. His work has appeared in many scholarly journals, and his monograph, A Critical Theory of Global Justice: The Frankfurt School and World Society, was published by Oxford University Press in 2023.
Dr Ibsen has been postdoctoral research fellow at Freie Universität Berlin and the University of Copenhagen, where he taught political theory and the history of political thought. He holds a PhD in political theory from Goethe University Frankfurt and an MPhil in political theory from Oxford University. He has worked at thinktanks and as a citizen engagement facilitator, having served as main moderator and member of the core organising team in the European Citizens Panels organised by the European Commission.
